In Cambodia, the challenges of hunger, poverty, and social inequity are deeply intertwined. Addressing them together is essential — focusing on just one allows the others to escalate, pulling families back into poverty.

The Face-to-Face Project (F2F) believes the best way to break the cycle of poverty is to nurture self-reliance, and the first step toward self-reliance is making food security accessible to everyone.

F2F’s Victory Garden Campaign mobilises rural grassroots communities in Cambodia to achieve sustainable solutions in the fight against hunger and poverty.

By creating high-yield, low-cost victory gardens, families can reduce the risk of relying on one crop, learn how to grow enough food to eat, generate income by selling surplus food, improve nutrition, and lead healthier, more fulfilling lives. Along the way, people begin to shift how they think about food security, nutrition, charity, climate change, and community resilience.

Victory Gardens improve quality of life across entire villages — the more food people grow, the stronger and more resilient their communities become. These gardens are easy to create, cost nothing for villagers to maintain, and begin producing food within weeks. Their success lies in being independent of external aid, the broader economy, or material resources. They withstand extreme weather and, most importantly, return control over the future to the villagers themselves.

Face-to-Face Cambodia is an Action on Poverty (AOP) partner. As F2F does not have Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status in Australia, it relies on its partnership with AOP to receive tax-deductible donations. By donating to F2F Cambodia through AOP you are helping communities in Cambodia gain access to victory gardens. All donations of $2 AUD or more are tax deductible.
