Do you have time, skills and want to use them to make a difference?

The office is in St Leonards, close to the train station and the hours are 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday. However if you are a full-time professional looking to get some experience in the international aid industry, we can give you project-based work to complete outside hours. We can also accommodate:

  • corporate volunteers
  • pro bono partners
  • students/graduates
  • retirees
  • part-timers etc.

Projects we need help with
• Create a public fundraising kit – for downloading on the website, so people can easily fundraise on our behalf in workplaces, schools or privately. 
• Design brochures, leaflets, cards, posters, newsletters etc.
• Improve our website so it ranks higher in search engines (SEO/SEM)
• Help to organise and promote events including lunches, quiz nights, cocktails/canapes nights
• Write social media posts
• Write newsletters
• Write fundraising letters, thank you letters and other materials
• Write and post content on our website
• Redesign website, especially donation form, to make it more user-friendly
• Write media releases
• Analyse fundraising campaigns
• Research funding opportunities and write proposals.

About us
AFAP Action on Poverty is a St Leonard’s based international aid agency. We work in partnership with poor and vulnerable communities to help people to lift themselves out of poverty. We are a small agency with a big reach and with just 10 staff here in Sydney last year we helped over 400,000 people to increase their incomes and have access to food, clean water, health care and education.
