Vulnerable Maasai communities in Tanzania’s semi-arid regions are struggling to survive the worst drought in over 40 years

Action on Poverty is providing emergency food aid and access to school to drought-stricken communities in Northern Tanzania and we need your immediate help.  

The Maasai pastoralist communities are facing near starvation following four consecutive failed rainy seasons. The prolonged drought is having a devastating impact on the communities who rely on livestock and crop production as their major source of income. The continued lack of rainfall, pasture and water, has killed their animals and destroyed their crops.
